Chapter 183

Mikayla said coldly, “Tell Mr. Saunders not to bother. Minito Group has a lot of orders now. Jerome also helped my uncle with a deal recently.”

Surprisingly, Aubrey didn’t get angry or insist on negotiating the deal.

She just apologized to Mikayla and pleaded for forgiveness, promising to prioritize her in the future.

Mikayla wasn’t in the mood to talk to Aubrey anymore, so she made a few excuses to hang up.

Feeling uneasy, she messaged Eduard, asking him to remind Stephen not to be overly ambitious.

After doing that, she felt sleepy and lay back on bed.

The newly changed bedding had a particularly refreshing fragrance, which helped her fall asleep fast.

Half asleep, Mikayla felt something heavy on her waist.

She tried to move a few times but was unable to shrug off the weight.

When she opened her eyes, she found that Jerome had entered the room at some

point.

His arm was now around her waist.

She slept facing him with her head resting on his shoulder.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw his sharp jawline.

Even though they were in their separate quilts, Mikayla found it hard to lie together in such an intimate position.

So, she moved Jerome’s arm away and sat up in bed.

He glanced at her sleepily, then ignored her and continued to sleep.

For the first time, she wondered how much she moves around when she sleeps.

She remembered being on the edge of the bed before sleeping, but she woke up next to Jerome.

It was still early.

Jerome, who was typically punctual about getting up early, had no intention of getting up.

She couldn’t sleep anyway.

Thus, she put on a jacket and went into the kitchen to make the mille crepe cake.

The dough in the fridge had fully risen.

Mikayla took it out, rolled it into long strips, flattened it, and kneaded the prepared filling into the dough.

Then, she knead it into strips, cut it into small balls, and shape it into small cakes before baking them.

While she was busy, Jerome came downstairs.

Seeing him walk steadily toward her, she thought she hadn’t hit him hard enough last night because he was fine now.

He stopped in front of her.

“What do you want?” Mikayla asked with a frown.

She had never seen him enter the kitchen.

“Aren’t you making a mille crepe cake for Grandma? She called me and asked me to help you.”

Mikayla refused. “No, thanks. I can do it myself.”

“I don’t want to be lectured by Grandma again early in the morning.”

He walked to her side, rolling up his sleeves.

“What can I do?”

Since he wanted to help, she wouldn’t insist on driving him away.

She wanted him to know how tough it was to prepare meals. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Chapter 183

If he were to meet another woman who always waited for him for meals, he’d understand her effort and dedication.

“Flatten this dough,” Mikayla instructed him. Unexpectedly, Jerome was stumped by the dough.
