Chapter 284
Chapter 284
“Right away, there’s a pot of stew simmering in the kitchen, I called out.
“Alright.”
Howard shrugged off his coat and hung it neatly on the mock, placing the stack of documents on the coffee table. He settled comfortably at the dining table as Gwendolyn, with measured steps, took her seat opposite him
Marina arved with the stew, lifting the lid as she announced, “Oyster stew, hearty and nourishing”
Howard’s expression twisted slightly.
Gwendolyn was no stranger to this sort of tonic cuisine and well understood the intention behind such a stew–it was meant as a fortifying dish.
Especially when she noticed the ingredients meant to invigorate, to strengthen the weak and weary. It was a remedy of sorts.
“Each of you gets a bowl, and I want to see clean bowls, Marina declared while dishing out their hearty shares.
Under Marina’s watchful eye, Gwendolyn and Howard dutifully sipped their stew until the bowls were empty, earning them a satisfied nod from Manna as she left
Gwendolyn stole a glance at Howard, catching his intense gaze
A silent current charged the air between them, ripe with unspoken promise.
“Mr Chadwick, I’m quite full, Gwendolyn murmured.
With his usual composure, he replied. “Why don’t you freshen up, change into that dress, and meet me in the studio?”
She nodded, her movements barely perceptible.
Gwendolyn all but fied to her room, locking the door behind her with shaky fingers. She pulled out a black lace slip dress and, with mix of nerves and anticipation, retrieved a USB drive given to her by Sandra. Was it too late for some last–minute advice? Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
What could she do to please Mr. Chadwick? How should she react in unexpected situations?
Her cheeks flushed, she dialed Sandra in desperation. The call connected quickly, though Sandra’s voice sounded add.
“Sendra, what should I be aware of for my first time?” Gwendolyn asked, her voice laced with embarrassment.
“Uh… use protection for longer–lasting pleasure,” Sandra rasped. “But you’re married… so it’s fine.”
After a hesitant pause, Sandra continued unevenly. “Gwendolyn, men are usually… quick the first time. Is it his first time? Anyway, just, focus on what feels good for you.”
“L. uh!”
“You’re being bothered by your dog again, aren’t you?” Gwendolyn frowned.
“Yeah, I gotta go.”
The line went dead, leaving Gwendolyn with more questions than answers.
Feeling overwhelmed, she clicked open the file on the USB titled “Modern Techniques for Timeless Pleasures, hoping to glean some insight. After forcing herself to read for over ten minutes, she
gathered her courage, grabbed the slip dress, and headed to the bathroom.
She spent an hour in the bathroom, her skin scrubbed to a rosy glow. Dressed in the nearly transparent slip and bundled in a thick robe, she made her way to the top floor studio
Gwendolyn gently pushed open the door to find Howard already there, a few droplets of water clinging to the locks of hair on his forehead, clad in a silk navy blue robe–fresh from a bath.
His eyes lifted at the comers as he saw her, bis gaze serious yet resolute.
“Are you here to face your fate?” he asked.
Gwendolyn took a deep breath, in and out
If surrender was akin to facing one’s fate, then indeed she was
“Come in, shut the door, he instructed with an ease that belied the tension in the room
Obediently, Gwendolyn shut the door, the lock clicking into place as if in sync with her erratic heartbeat.
The painting from last night hung on the wall, and she paused to take it in.
Howard approached from behind, his hand tracing a path from her thigh upward, his warm breath cascading over her face.
Fresh from the shower, her skin was especially sensitive.
09:31
Her body trembled uncontrollably.
Gwendolyn put up her hands in an attempt to still his, her voice a near plea, “Mr. Chadwick, please… slow down…
