EPISODE FOURTEEN
THEME: Her insecurities
BLACK MOON PACK
(Avery’s Point of View)
My eyes flared open and I was sweating profusely. The room was dark only a dim light provided brightness. “It was a nightmare! It was a nightmare! It was a nightmare!” I tried to calm myself down.
“Kayden….” My head processed the nightmare again. I looked sideways to the bed space and my mate was there soundly asleep.
Groaning, I grip the thick, warm cover of the bed pulling it up under my neck. Letting out a sigh, I drop my head deeper into the soft pillow trying to relax my mind and get off the disturbing nightmare that seem to appear every now and then with my eyes closed.
The night mare was beginning to get to me. The bed sheets tickle against my skin as I twisted beneath them, getting wrapped up further in the heavenly warmth.
Some moments later, I heard Kayden cough and I looked at him. His eyes were fully opened boring into mine.
“Why are you awake?” He asked rubbing his sleepy eyes.
“Nothing.. I woke up.. not too long. But.. I am trying to get some sleep again.” I stammered.
My anger wolf won’t get intimate with another wolf right? I mused.
“You look perturbed.” Kayden said.
Yeah! I am terrified because of a nightmare! And I am troubled because you will have a child soon with another wolf! No.. wait…what if the she wolf is already carrying his child as I speak? What if she is planning to kill me? Series of questions flooded my mind as I was bound to loose my sanity anytime soon.
“Avery,” I felt Kayden shaking me up.
“You were saying…sorry?” I snapped out of thought.
“What’s wrong with you?” Kayden sat up on the bed.
“Nothing…I am fine.” I answered.
There are so many questions bugging my mind that I want to ask my mate. For instance, “Are you seeing another she-wolf?”
“Okay…” Kayden threw his legs over the side of the bed and made his way to the bathroom.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
With my eyes closed, images from the nightmare occurred again which made me sit up on the bed abruptly. I am not sure I can keep this to myself.
Maybe I should be blamed if it happens that my mate has been seeing other wolves. I have refused to complete our mate bond. I don’t want to share my mate with another she-wolf. I want all of him for myself.
Kayden cleared his throat when he came out of the bathroom. I looked up at him as he walked to the bed and got into it.
“Come here…” Kayden gestured to me to lean on his chest.
I hesitated. “I have a question.” I said.
Kayden raised an eyebrow. “It.. it is.. just something that has been bothering me lately.” I said in a low tone.
Kayden nodded. “Alright. I am listening.”
“I read a book…” I paused to look at him.
“I am not sure you can ever stop reading books.” Kayden let out a sigh as he lay on the bed. “Go ahead.” He mumbled.
“The alpha started seeing his closest friend without his mate knowing. And it turned out that…his friend is carrying his child.” I stopped.
“Wait, let me try to understand you. The male wolf cheated on his mate with a close friend.” Kayden explained.
“Yes.” I nodded.
“And the close friend ended up having a baby for the male wolf.” Kayden added and I shook my head in agreement.
Kayden did a click sound. “Such an interesting story. So what happened in the end?” He asked.
“The she-wolf asked the alpha mate to go far away so she could be with the alpha. And the she-wolf ended up killing the Alpha’s mate while he was watching her.” I narrated.
“That’s terrible of him to watch the death of his mate.” Kayden commented.
“Why did the alpha cheat when he has a mate? And why did he stand to watch the death of his mate?” I questioned.
Kayden was silent as seconds clicked by into minutes.
“Kayden,” I called out to him.
“Oh sorry.. I am.. only trying to think of answers to your questions.” Kayden said.
“So what do you think?” I asked.
Perhaps will these questions help me find out if my mate was seeing another mate.
“I think the alpha doesn’t love his mate to start with and it’s either his mate wasn’t giving him what he wanted – Sex. I can’t be sure. But…. why do I feel like this is about-” Kayden paused to study my expression.
“Are you having thoughts that I am seeing another wolf?” He blurted out.
Oops! I just got caught red handed.
Kayden sat up abruptly. “Why do you think I would cheat on you?”
“No.. no.. don’t get me wrong.. I am not insinuating that you are cheating. I.. I.. read.. a book.. and.. it has.. been-”
“You didn’t read such book.” Kayden frowned.
I withdrew my hand from reaching out to him. A tear slipped down my cheeks. He just stated the reasons why the alpha in my imaginary book cheated on his mate. I should be blamed if my mate cheats on me with another wolf. I have refused to complete my bond and get intimate with him.
Does his answers to my questions reflects his true actions?
“It’s not a good idea to start feeling insecure. We are not humans, Avery. And you are only feeling this way because we haven’t bonded our wolves.” Kayden stated clearly.
I could feel it clearly that he wasn’t happy by my funny claims. But it all came down to the same fact that I have refused to do the needful as a she-wolf with a mate.
“Kayden, I am sorry if I made you upset.” I apologized.
“It is al-” I leaned closer and slammed mouth against his lips, silencing his words.
If mating with my mate would secure my relationship then I could throw caution into the wind. Humans have sex without getting pregnant or even distracting their studies. There are pregnant and married ladies at college and they are doing fine.
