Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

‘Huh? I thought it’d be a challenge to sway Nelly. It never occurred to me that she’d suddenly give in and hand them over to me. Didn’t pay much mind to it at first, but now, I gotta admit, I feel the weight of responsibility. This is probably what she wants. She wants me to remember her warning clearly and take this matter seriously.’

With that thought in mind, Thalia peered at Nelly. “You’re entrusting the triplets to me… Do you trust me that much?”

Nelly nodded.

“Why?” asked Thalia.

Nelly raised an eyebrow. “It’s probably ’cause… I know you well.”

“Know me well… You’re sayin’ that you know me well?” Thalia repeated with suspicion. “Yeah.” Nelly nodded.

“How can that be…” Thalia started with a growl. Turning to Nelly, she noticed the lycanthrope’s exceptionally determined gaze. It didn’t seem like she was joking.

“We haven’t spent much time together, so how could you know me well?” she questioned.

Nelly looked at her, enunciating each word slowly and clearly as she replied, “That’s ’cause I know how to read minds.”

Thalia stared at her blankly for several heartbeats. “Read minds?” she echoed skeptically.

Looking serious, Nelly simply nodded.

“Are such things actually real?” Thalia inquired, unconvinced.

Nelly locked eyes with her and responded, “Why not? Mind reading is also a form of supernatural insight. It’s just that it goes by a different name. Those with a heightened level of consciousness can see into people’s minds.”

Thalia stared at her for what felt like an eternity, dumbfounded.

Maybe it was Nelly’s demeanor, but she didn’t seem like someone who would deceive. So Thalia found herself starting to believe her.

More importantly, if this is true, that’d explain why I always get this uneasy feeling in my heart whenever I’m around her. Every time she looks at me, it feels like she can see right through me. Mind reading, huh? I see…

As these thoughts swirled in Thalia’s mind, Tony approached.

He leaned in and glanced at the two wolves as he asked, “What are you two chatin’ ’bout?”

Nelly smiled as she gazed at him. “Nothin’. We’re just talkin’ ’bout random things. Why haven’t you gone to rest?”

“Oh, I wanted to talk to Thalia ’bout somethin’,” he answered. Nelly glanced at Thalia, then nodded. “Go ahead, then.”

“What ’bout you, Nelly?”

“I’ll head back to my den and get some shut-eye after I finish this glass,” she replied, swirling her glass of crimson liquid. Tony nodded. “Goodnight, then. Sweet dreams.”

“Okay.”

With that, Tony shot Thalia a quick glance. The Lycan snapped back to reality and followed him. As they walked away, Thalia seemed a bit absent-minded.

“What’s gotten into you?” Tony inquired.

Thalia turned to him and furrowed her brows. “Tony, why didn’t ya tell me earlier ’bout your mother’s ability to read minds?”

Tony was taken aback. “Read minds?”

“Yeah!” Thalia responded, then let out a long sigh. “And here I was, wonderin’ why I always had this indescribable sense of guilt everytime I saw her. Now, I finally understand why.”

He paused for a moment before asking, “Did she tell ya that?” “That’s right.”NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

“What did you two talk ’bout?”

Thalia replied, “She’s worried ’bout your safety. She wanted me to ensure and promise that I’ll protect the three of you in the future.”

Tony was stunned by her words. He turned back to look at Nelly, who was still sipping her red liquid under the moonlit sky. She lounged gracefully, radiating an indescribable aura that mirrored the beauty of solitude.

She don’t say much, but she always arranges everythin’ behind the scenes. As a mother, that’s probably the most honest display of care and concern she has for her child.

Unbidden, a lump formed in Tony’s throat.

“What’s wrong?” Thalia reached out and waved her hand in front of his eyes.

Snapping back to reality, Tony composed himself and shook his head. “Nothin’. Did she say anythin’ else after that?” he asked while staring at Thalia.

Thalia continued, “After that, I asked your mother why she trusts me so much. She said it’s ’cause she knows me well. Then, I got dragged here.”

Tony fell silent, staring at her intently.

What she probably meant by that was she thoroughly investigated Thalia’s background. But she couldn’t say that, so she claimed she could read minds…

Tony couldn’t help but sigh at that realization.

When did Nelly become such a gullible fool too? As expected, one is truly shaped by their surroundings. It must be a result of spendin’ too much time with Daddy. However, I can’t blame Thalia for foolishly buyin’ into it. With a face like Nelly’s, I’m afraid others will believe anythin’ she says. Those who are reserved and not skilled with words look more trustworthy. Like Thalia, I would’ve also accepted that explanation if I didn’t know Nelly as well as I do…

While Tony sank into deep thought, Thalia asked, “What are ya thinkin’ ’bout?” He snapped back to reality. “Nothin’!”
