“What, you think you can keep searching until you find her? Well, if that’s what you want, I can arrange it!” Spencer growled.
Thalia narrowed her eyes, searching for any signs of deceit in his gaze, but found nothing.
His determination made her back down.
“No need!” She stepped back. “There’s no need for it.” Without hesitation, she turned and walked away.
Her leg, injured from her earlier car-jumping stunt, throbbed with pain, causing her to stumble as she walked.
Concern filled Spencer’s eyes as he reached out to steady her. “Are you alright?”
She recoiled from his touch as if he were a contagious beast. “Don’t touch me.”
Without looking back, Thalia trudged away, her heart heavy with disappointment. ‘Five years. I’ve searched for him for five years, never giving up. I wanted to tell him I’d changed, that I would trust him and be better. But all my persistence has turned into a cruel joke.’
Every step she took felt empty, as if she were a lifeless creature. A trail of blood marked her path.
Spencer watched her from behind, his heart feeling constricted, as if a force was squeezing the life out of him.
Turning around, he noticed the truck driver still standing at a distance, observing the painful scene. The driver muttered, resigned, “This ain’t none of my concern…”
Ignoring the driver, Spencer glanced at Thalia once more before making a decision. He ran after her, reaching out to grab her arm. “Let me take you to the hospital.”
But before he could touch her, the tip of a dagger pressed against his chest. “I said don’t f*cking touch me!”
Undeterred by the threat, he met her cold gaze and took a step closer, allowing the dagger to graze his chest, drawing blood.
“If it eases your pain, then do it,” Spencer said seriously.
Thalia stared at him, her eyes filled with anger and despair. And in the next moment, she turned the dagger towards her own neck.
His brows furrowed in alarm. “Thalia…”
“Don’t come any closer!” She regarded him as if he were a stranger. “Since you already have someone you love, then leave me be!”
Words formed in his mouth, but he couldn’t utter a single one.
Watching as he kept his distance, Thalia put the dagger away, turned away, and continued on her way. Resignation clouded his eyes as he watched her walk away.
Thalia limped down the road, while he trailed behind, lost in memories from fifteen years ago.
Meanwhile, Alpha Kilian sent the triplets back home after the party.
Nelly remained silent during the journey back. It was clear that something troubled her, but they all respected her enough not to inquire.
When the car arrived at their destination, Alpha Wade stared at them, hesitating. “It’s getting late, so I’ll take the three of you upstairs first.” He glanced at the triplets, silently urging them to exit the car.
In the past, he would have opposed leaving the two alone together. But now, he willingly granted them some privacy. The triplets understood the unspoken message and quickly got out of the car.
“Goodnight, Mr. Handsome!” Donna waved. “Goodnight.” Alpha Kilian smiled.
Only then did Donna accompany her siblings upstairs. As they walked, she commented, “Grandpa actually let them have some private time?”
A rare occurrence!
Ben whispered in her ear, “We convinced Grandpa when we went to the supermarket with him last time. Looks like our efforts paid off!”
Surprised, she looked at him. “Does this mean Grandpa won’t interfere in their lives anymore?”
“That depends on Daddy’s performance. But at least Grandpa’s attitude towards their relationship is changing!” Tony whispered in agreement.
The girl pondered for a moment before nodding. “You’re right!”
Observing the kids whispering amongst themselves, Alpha Wade said, “Alright, stop your whispering. You’ve played enough today. Go take a bath and rest.”
The triplets obediently and quietly entered the elevator.
In the car, Alpha Kilian studied Nelly. “Your worries are written all over your face. Alpha Jackson seemed genuinely concerned.”
Her attention snapped back, but she continued to stare out the window in silence.
Reaching out, he held her hand. “I hope I can earn your trust, Nelly. No matter what happens, I’ll stand by your side and take care of you.”
She turned to face him, aware of what he wanted to hear, including an explanation for her behavior. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
But in that moment, she couldn’t bring herself to speak. “Please give me more time, Alpha Kilian. I need to sort things out.”
Alpha Kilian was taken aback for a moment before nodding. “Alright, I’ll wait for you. I’ll be there when you’re ready to talk or when you need me.”
Nelly nodded, her eyes still fixed on him.
“Alright, it’s getting late. You should rest.” He opened the door for her to exit. She nodded again before stepping out of the car.
“I’ll wait for your call,” he stated.
Lost in her thoughts, Nelly absentmindedly nodded before walking away. It wasn’t until she entered the building that he drove off.
“Alpha Morris, Ms. Jackson-” Before Fabian could continue, Alpha Kilian interrupted, “Go back to the hotel.”
“Huh? Did you forget something there?” Fabian asked.
A single look from Alpha Kilian silenced him immediately. He promptly drove back to the hotel.
In the hotel’s surveillance room, Alpha Kilian watched the screen with a furrowed brow.
At first, Fabian didn’t notice anything unusual on the surveillance footage. But as Alpha Kilian and another figure interacted, Fabian’s eyes widened in agitation. He whispered urgently into Alpha Kilian’s ear, “Alpha Morris…”
Ignoring the people around them, Fabian murmured, “It’s a gun, Alpha Morris…”
In the footage, the last person who entered the car wore a short leather jacket. As that person confronted Alpha Kilian, a murderous glint appeared in their eyes. When they reached for their back, Fabian spotted something- the handle of a gun.
To most, a mere glimpse of the handle wouldn’t mean much. But to Fabian and Alpha Kilian, it was enough to raise their suspicions.
Alpha Kilian’s face remained impassive. He turned to Fabian and gave an order, “Make a copy of this footage.”
Fabian nodded. “Yes!”
Taking out his phone, Alpha Kilian left the room.
As he walked, he dialed a number. “Where are you, Dave? I need your help investigating some individuals.”
