Nelly clenched her fists, her eyes glinting with suspicion. “What do you want, Alpha Kilian? Decided to play the good guy all of a sudden?”
Alpha Kilian met her gaze with a powerful intensity, his eyes burning with something unreadable. He took a step closer to her, a malicious smirk tugging at his lips. He contemplated tearing his own heart out to reveal his true intentions.
Nelly, however, was unfazed. “Sorry, but I’m not one for games. I only got the message today,” she replied bluntly. Alpha Kilian took another step towards her, his voice dripping with a dangerous undertone. “So, are you trying to trap me here? I assure you, I can prove myself to be a ‘good man’ sooner than you think.”
Nelly stared at him, his intentions crystal clear. She had no doubt about the depth of his care for her. Before she could respond, the door swung open, interrupting their tense moment.
Donna emerged from her room, holding a stack of clothes. “Mom, come quick and tell me if these look good!”
Nelly snapped back to reality and turned towards Donna. “Coming.” She walked towards her daughter, ignoring Alpha Kilian’s gaze burning into her back.
Donna asked eagerly, “Do these clothes match, Mom?”
Nelly examined her daughter’s outfit before offering a suggestion, “Yes, they’re quite nice. Pair it with some sports shoes.”
Donna blinked, unsure. “Won’t that look strange?”
Nelly could only smile to herself, knowing that Donna was the one who had an eye for fashion. In no way was she going to question her daughter’s choices. She chose to remain silent, not wanting to dampen Donna’s spirit.
Alpha Kilian, however, curled his lips in disagreement. “No, match it with a pair of boots.”
Donna’s eyes lit up. “You’re right, Mr. Handsome!”
Nelly furrowed her brows at his suggestion. “I think sports shoes would be a better match.”
Donna muttered under her breath, “Mom, maybe you should rest.”
With that, Donna turned to Alpha Kilian and asked, “Mr. Handsome, can you help me choose one of the outfits?”
“Sure!” Alpha Kilian nodded eagerly.
“Let’s go!” Donna tugged Alpha Kilian into the room, leaving Nelly speechless. Was she being dismissed now? Lost in her thoughts, Nelly’s phone rang. She walked over to the couch to reply to Spencer’s message, unaware of Alpha Kilian’s presence as he exited the room. Nelly lifted her head briefly to glance at him.
“Done choosing?” she asked, continuing her conversation on the phone.
“Yes.” Alpha Kilian nodded, taking in her distracted state.
“Going out?” Nelly inquired, her attention still divided.
“Yes,” Nelly nodded absentmindedly.
“Where to?”
“Work.”
“I can give you a ride,” Alpha Kilian offered unexpectedly. Nelly froze, raising her head to look at him, suspicion etched on her face.
“A ride?” If she remembered correctly, Alpha Kilian’s office was not in the same direction as hers.
“Yes, I need to go to your office to settle something,” Alpha Kilian explained. Nelly wasn’t sure if she believed him, but she didn’t decline his offer either. She simply nodded her head in response.
Not long after, Donna emerged from the room, dressed in a khaki-colored dress with a white scarf accentuating her look. She sported a hat, her long black hair flowing down her back. She carried a small bag across her shoulders, giving her a fashionable yet neat appearance.
Nelly admired her daughter’s appearance. “You look great, Donna.”
Donna beamed with happiness. “Thank you, Mom!”
The three of them headed downstairs, where a Mercedes-Benz minivan awaited them. Sharon, dressed casually and wearing sunglasses, sat inside, engrossed in her phone.
When Sharon noticed Alpha Kilian and Nelly approach, she nudged her manager, who made way for the couple. Sharon stepped out of the car, her celebrity-like aura apparent. She had been conversing with Donna, their rapport mirroring that of old friends. The scene eased Alpha Kilian’s tension, as he saw the genuine affection between the two.
Sharon turned her attention towards Alpha Kilian and Nelly. “Mr. Morris, Ms. Jackson, care to join us?”
Nelly declined, her tone firm. “No, I have to go to work. Thank you for taking care of Donna.”
“It’s no trouble at all, but…” Sharon’s gaze shifted towards Alpha Kilian.
“Mr. Morris…”
Alpha Kilian interrupted, his voice laced with concern. “Take good care of Donna. I don’t want anything to happen to her.”
Donna beamed at the interaction, feeling loved and protected. She nodded in agreement. “Don’t worry, Mr. Handsome. If anyone bullies me or makes me feel uncomfortable, I’ll call you!”
Alpha Kilian patted her head gently before exiting the elevator with Nelly following suit. Meanwhile, Donna and Sharon shared a cheerful conversation.
Nelly couldn’t help but feel a pang of uncertainty. As her phone buzzed with a message from Spencer, she sat on the couch, absorbed in her own thoughts. Alpha Kilian reappeared in the room, catching Nelly’s fleeting glance.
“Are you heading out?” Nelly asked, still focused on her phone.
“Yes,” Alpha Kilian responded, keeping his eyes on her.
“Where?”
“Work.”NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Nelly hummed in acknowledgment, her attention still divided. Alpha Kilian broke the silence. “I can give you a ride.”
Nelly looked up, watching him carefully. “Do you know the way to my office?”
Alpha Kilian lowered his gaze and spoke softly. “I need to settle some things at your office.”
Nelly couldn’t discern if he was telling the truth or not, but she didn’t refuse his offer. She simply nodded, accepting his gesture. Donna emerged from the room, dressed in a fashionable outfit, and accompanied by Alpha Kilian.
Nelly watched them leave, speechless, questioning her own place in their lives. As her phone continued to beckon her attention, Nelly wondered if she was being dismissed.
