After departing from the cafe, Erin swiftly dispatched an urgent message to Alpha Zachary before venturing toward Prosper Technologies.
“I am intrigued to witness the cunningness this woman possesses,” she thought ominously.
When she arrived at Prosper Technologies, Erin coolly walked into the building, paying no mind to the inquisitive receptionist who approached her in a rush. “Excuse me, may I inquire about the purpose of your visit? Do you have an appointment?”
Ignoring the receptionist’s words, Erin continued her stride, dismissing her without acknowledgment. The receptionist promptly intervened, positioning herself to halt Erin’s progress. “I apologize, but entering without an appointment is forbidden.”
Erin cast a disdainful glance toward the receptionist. “I seek Nelly Jackson.”
“And you are?” the receptionist inquired, sensing the malevolent intent radiating from Erin.
“It matters not who I am. Summon her immediately to meet with me!” Erin demanded.
“Regrettably, that cannot be done without an appointment,” the receptionist responded.
Erin glared icily at the receptionist. “If you refuse to summon her, then I shall find her myself.” With that, she forcefully pushed the receptionist aside and stormed into the building.
“Excuse me, miss. Please wait-” the receptionist pleaded.
“You would do well to keep your distance. You shall pay dearly if my attire becomes soiled,” Erin warned the receptionist, her voice dripping with coldness.
Aware of Erin’s formidable nature, the receptionist dared not approach her. She stood aside, obstructing Erin’s path. Soon, a curious crowd began to gather.
Erin entered the Programming Department’s office, which exclusively housed male employees. As she surveyed the room, the men locked their gazes with hers.
Erin narrowed her eyes. “Where is Nelly Jackson?”
The receptionist replied, “Ms. Jackson is not present-”
“Not present? Why did you not disclose this earlier?” Erin interrupted sharply, clearly doubting the receptionist’s words.
The receptionist faltered, unsure of how to respond. At that moment, Tommy, who was retrieving a parcel, witnessed the incident. He approached the receptionist and asked quietly, “What is happening, Sarah?”
Sarah Sprunt anxiously pulled Tommy aside and whispered, “She is here for Nelly. I sense foul intentions from that woman. Inform Nelly and advise her not to come out!”
Tommy scrutinized Erin before nodding. “Understood.”
He concealed his urgency and strolled casually toward the conference room.
Meanwhile, Nelly was engaged in a phone call.
Before Tommy could utter a word, Erin’s voice resonated from outside, echoing loudly enough for Nelly to hear every word in the conference room.
Nelly furrowed her brows and glanced at Tommy. “Is someone searching for me out there?”
He shook his head hurriedly. “No.”Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
But his expression betrayed him.
Nelly rose from her seat and prepared to exit the room, only for Tommy to intercede.
“What is the matter?” Nelly questioned.
“It is best if you remain here-” he began.
“What is happening?” she pressed urgently.
“I do not have all the details, but someone is looking for you outside. They appear furious and harbor malicious intent. Sarah instructed me to inform you to stay here and not venture out,” Tommy explained.
Simultaneously, Ross and Chris observed Tommy and Nelly, their curiosity piqued by the commotion.
“Where is Nelly Jackson? Where is she?” Erin’s voice reverberated throughout the building, yet no one dared to respond.
She scoffed. Looks like Lara was correct. All these men are bewitched by Nelly. They are fiercely protective of her.
As her temper flared, Erin shouted, “What are you afraid of, Nelly? Are you hiding because you fear facing me? Should I expose your secrets to the world?”
Nelly, still inside the conference room, locked eyes with Tommy. “Step aside!”
“Ms. Jackson-” Tommy began.
Nelly raised an eyebrow, prompting Tommy to obediently move out of her way. Witnessing this, she swung open the door and exited the room.
At that moment, Chris and Ross leapt to their feet, glowering at Tommy as they chimed in unison, “Coward!”
Tommy retorted, “If you believe yourselves more capable, then attempt to impede her.”
The duo exited the room without a word, positioning themselves behind Nelly like loyal sentinels.
Meanwhile, Erin persisted in her relentless shouts outside, refusing to depart despite Sarah’s admonitions. To worsen matters, she even shoved Sarah aside. Suddenly, Nelly emerged from the shadows, grabbing hold of Sarah to ensure her safety.
“Are you alright?” Nelly inquired.
Sarah turned and gazed at Nelly, filled with concern. “Nelly, why did you come out?”
Nelly flashed a reassuring smile, disguising any hint of distress. When her eyes met Erin’s, a malevolence burned within them.
Erin, too, noticed Nelly’s arrival. To be honest, she felt slightly taken aback upon glimpsing her presence.
This woman possesses an uncanny beauty. She possesses the countenance that evokes envy in every woman.
Erin’s narrowed eyes locked onto Nelly. “Who are you?”
Nelly smiled faintly, a dangerous glimmer shining in her eyes. “Were you not searching for me? Do you now feign ignorance?”
“You are Nelly Jackson?” Erin’s disbelief was palpable.
“That is correct,” Nelly acknowledged. Now that I contemplate it, I have yet to seek revenge upon her for the atrocities she inflicted upon Donna. How opportune for her to cross my path today.
Erin studied Nelly intently, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. “As expected, you possess the allure of a seductress.”
Chris and Ross, standing behind Nelly, immediately retaliated. “What did you say?”
“Choose your words wisely!” they warned.
Erin froze, her eyes darting between the men and Nelly. Lara’s claims began to carry more weight in her mind.
Everyone within this company is abnormal!
Focusing her gaze on Nelly, Erin declared, “Nelly Jackson, I shall be direct. I am Alpha Zachary’s mother. I demand that you steer clear of him and cease your pestering. Furthermore, he shall soon become engaged to the daughter of Lucas Corporation’s CEO, a woman far superior to your ilk. I advise you to be more self-aware. Should you refuse, do not blame me for my impoliteness!”
The crowd erupted into turmoil at the sound of her words.
“What?”
“What does she mean, ‘three kids’?”
