Doctor Daddy Epilogue
BROOKE
Ayear later...
Angela fussed with her red bride's maid dress. “I look like a very fashionable Mrs. Claus. Did you think this through, Brooke? Red velvet, white fur?”
“You had your opportunity to bitch about the bride's maid dresses back when we ordered them. I believe you said, it will be a winter wonderland wedding."
She sighed with a laugh. “I do love a good alliteration.’
“Could the gentleman in the back please move about six inches to the left. No, the other left. That's it. Okay, everyone, I nee: eyes on me.” The photographer had spent the last thirty minutes ordering us around. I guess that's why Mom and Dad were paying them the big bucks.
I was married. Only it felt like I was playing dress-up and statue at the same time. Almost immediately after the ceremony, we had been whisked away to have pictures taken.
“I can't believe your dad is wearing plaid.”
“It's a Christmas plaid, and he didn't want to be confused with being a groom's man.” We stage whispered to each other whil keeping smiles on our faces.
“Great, can we get the father of the bride here?”
“See ya," I said as she cackled with her newly found freedom. “Open bar here I come.”
“How are you holding up?” Dad asked as he sidled in next to me.
“About as good as expected. I got no sleep last night. We're teething and very cranky." I no longer was a singular entity. I spoke in plural, and very rarely referred to myself for anything. It was all about the girls.
“I saw that, new teeth. Your mother is enjoying herself. Grand babies, a big wedding”
“Rhys isn't though. I guess Emily is pressuring him about wedding plans,” I mentioned.
“If he wants to marry the girl, he needs to understand it isn't always going to be about him."
“Yeah, well, he growled at me."
Dad looked at me, brows raised in a silent question.
“To me please, thank you," the photographer interrupted.
“He said I should have run away to get married since I always run away to do everything else."
Dad shocked me when he kissed me on the forehead. I looked up at him in dismay.
“Oh, that's lovely," I heard the photographer croon.
“I'm glad you didn't run away to get married. Your mother planned one hell of a party. Let's get these photos over with so we can enjoy ourselves."
He was right, Mom had put together a super party. After the photographer took all the official group shots I was released int the wilds of my reception. The party had started without us, but that was fine, it meant we walked into a good time.
And then everything passed in a blur. I wasn't ready to go when it was time to leave. I cuddled Strawberry, reluctant to hand her over to Shelly. Summer was already asleep in her stroller.
“They will be fine. The girls have already decided they are going to help, and the boys have volunteered to go to friends’ houses, so they don't have to hear babies crying”
“Shelly has done this four times already. Everything will be fine, Brooke."
“I know." I took a shaky breath.
“We're only going to be gone for a week. And then we're back for Christmas,” Mark tried to soothe me.
“I will send you updates and pictures every day. It will be annoying because you really don't want to hear from me while on your honeymoon.”
“But I will want updates. What if they start walking while we're gone?”
“No one is going to start walking while we're gone. They barely have teeth.”
With one last kiss on each of their little heads, I let Mark guide me out to the waiting limo. Once inside, I let myself sink into the seats. I was exhausted.
“The first thing I want to do when we get to the hotel’ I started.
“Oh yeah?” Mark slid an arm behind me and slid across the leather seat as he pulled me into his lap. “And what exactly is that, and how may I be of service?” He began nibbling at my neck.
I'squirmed and pushed against his chest.
“Not that. I want to sleep. Why did you have to get us tickets to some tropical paradise? It's going to be wasted on me. All plan on doing this week is sleeping. I have a year to make up for"
“Is that all you'll be doing?”
His kisses tickled and stirred the nerves in my core. “Okay, sleeping, and other things that involve being in bed all the time’ “I like how you are thinking"
By the time we arrived at the hotel, the concierge service had our bags already delivered to our room before we had arrived That would earn them a high score from me. I had to remember that I was here as a guest, and not a hospitality managemen student preparing an assessment report.
The door closed behind Mark with a solid click. He tossed over the brass safety lock.
“As beautiful as you are right now in this dress, I really would rather see you out of it"
“Well, I think you look dashing in your tux” All the men wore black velvet suit coats with red accessories. He looked like a movie star on the red carpet before the premiere. I stepped in close and ran my hands over the fabric at his shoulders. I loved the way it felt.
I hooked my thumbs in the collar with the next pass of my hands and pushed his coat off. As much as I admired him in that suit I, also, would rather have him naked.
He laughed and began helping me to get rid of his suit. When he was down to trousers and an unbuttoned dress shirt, he spun me around and declared it was my turn.
“Shit, why does this thing have so many buttons?”
The dress had something like one hundred tiny pearl buttons down the back. I lifted my arm and pointed to my ribs. “Secret side entry. There's a zipper!’
“Oh, tricky designer,” he proclaimed.
with a quick zip, the bodice of the dress was loose enough for me to begin the escape process. And it was a process. Laughter bubbled out of me as I got stuck with my arms over my head, while Mark tried to toss the skirt up.
“You are still under there, aren't you?"
“Whoever said getting out your wedding clothes for the honeymoon to start was sexy and romantic, had it all wrong” I complained.
“Who said that?”
“Books, movies."
“Welcome to reality darling. There you are,” he smiled at me when I was finally unearthed from the mound of tulle and layer: of lace.
“That's the first layer. Are you ready for round two?” We still had the scaffolding of my foundation wear to get rid of.
“I'm beginning to think that my wife is not under all of this."
“Are you saying I'm three raccoons in a trench coat pretending to be me?”
“Something like that. Gotcha!”
He pulled me to him as the corset I had been wearing went flying across the room. His kisses felt different. I didn’t know if that was the magic of being married, or if I had imagined having missed him for some unknown period of time. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
His hands caressed my back before grabbing onto my hips. “You are still not naked,” he growled.
“Neither are you. Make you a deal. We both finish taking everything off and I'll meet you in bed.”
“First one in, warms the sheets? You're on."
I had substantially less to remove now that the dress and foundation pieces were off. I hurled the remainder of my. underthing’s across the room and dove into the bed. I giggled as I wiggled around in the cool sheets.
I sighed with welcome relief when Mark brought his warm body next to me in bed. “Hmmm.”
I hooked a leg over his hips and pressed in close, skin to skin.
Less than a few hours ago I had been too tired to even consider making love to my husband. And now that I had him in a be: and there were no babies to wake up and interrupt us, I couldn't get enough of him.
His mouth on my skin, on my breasts, was pure bliss. I cried out, not caring if the people in the room next to us heard anything when he slid his fingers between my legs and found my clit.
“Brooke, I want to do this with you for the rest of my life.”
“I love you so much.” I pressed my mouth to his and rocked my hips closer to his. My body seeking his out.
With a groan, he rolled away from me. “Condom. Fuck, where?"
“Look on the table.” Next to a large bouquet of flowers was a crystal candy bowl, but instead of candy, it was full of condoms “Someone wants to make sure we don't come home from this trip with any more surprises.”
He grabbed a handful and returned to the bed. He tossed them up like confetti. “This is overkill
“Are you sure?" I picked up a foil pack and tore it open and handed it to him.
If I thought his kisses felt different, him inside felt even better. Our bodies rocked together with utter perfection. Wedding sex was better than sneaking around s*x, and that had always been phenomenal.
“Ah, Mark," I called out as he took my body to the edge and over into orgasmic bliss.
Mark shouted as he reached his release, and we collapsed tangled together.
“You are magnificent Mrs. Bryant”
“Oh, I like that," I purred with satisfaction. “Say it again.”
“Which part? You're magnificent?”
“No, the other”
“Mrs. Bryant?”
“Yeah, I like the way that sounds." I nestled in close to his chest.
His arms tightened around me. “Me too, Mrs. Bryant. Me too.”
