A Relentless Pursuit for Love

Chapter 32

Chapter 32

The crowd was further baffled by the “arrival” of the sheaves of papers that were flung in their faces. Some of them picked up the paper to find a list of Sienna’s offenses.

The list included promiscuity; being extravagant, pretentious, deceiving, calculative, manipulative; and a homewrecker.

“Hah, and the Zeldas pride themselves in being honorable! They are clearly ruined!”

Sienna’s parents could not take the humiliation anymore. As they could no longer care about how others perceived them, they rushed to the stage and began interrogating their daughter. “Sienna, what is all this? What is going on?”

Looking at the list of offenses, Sienna shook in anger. Pointing at the crowd of guests, she screamed, “Who is it? Who set me up on this? Show yourself right now, and we will deal with this head-on!”

“You want to talk about this in front of everyone? Are you sure you have the guts to do it?”

Zachary, who had finally freed himself from the bodyguards, returned to the stage. Taking the papers from Faye’s hand, he glanced at Sienna in disdain and scoffed, “Why don’t you start by explaining about this illness of yours? You’re obviously an anorexic, but you lied to Jace that you have stomach cancer? I took pity on you because of your cancer, and that is the only reason why I agreed t o your marriage!”

Zachary was about to throw the papers in Sienna’s face, but Jace took the papers from him instead.

Going through the document, Jace finally read Sienna’s medical record.

From the record, Jace finally learned that Sienna had faked her cancer.

Jace was shocked by how Sienna was actually capable of keeping him in the dark for such a long time when it had been relatively easy for someone to expose her.

Jace scoffed. Was he laughing at himself for being such a fool? Or at Sienna for being so capable?

Holding the medical records in his hand, Jace turned to look at Sienna and said, “Now I know why you have always been reluctant t o visit the hospital with me… so you’ve been lying to me since the day you returned to the country.”

“No, it’s not what you think, Jace. I can explain.” Sienna’s red-rimmed eyes welled up with tears as she started walking toward Jace.

Unlike usual, Jace did not walk up to her but instead took a step away from her. His eyes were cold, and he looked at her with disdain as if she were something dirty.

Sienna felt her heart sink.

Just then, Zayna could be seen rushing toward Jace. He then said, “Mr. Jace, your mother is on the rooftop now, and she is planning to… jump off the building.”

There was a change in Jace’s expression. Jumping off the stage, Jace rushed to the rooftop.

On the rooftop, Freya Yuriel was seated in her wheelchair. The wheelchair was dangerously close to the edge of the roof. A small slip and she would tumble to her death. Freya, however, appeared calm and imposing.

The ground floor was full of people, and cushions had been spread out on the ground. A negotiator was trying to talk to Freya with the help of a megaphone. “Madam, please don’t do anything rash. We can talk things out…”

Both Jace and Zachary had finally arrived at the rooftop. Seeing Freya sitting dangerously close to the edge, neither of them dared say anything to her.

“Mother.”

Jace could not seem to find his voice. He thought that he had said her name, but he had not made a sound.

“Aunt Freya, what are you doing?! Let’s talk things out! Why are you scaring us like this!” wailed Zachary. He was shocked by the situation. All he could do was beg Freya to calm down.

Sitting straight in her wheelchair, Freya turned to look at her son who was walking toward her, and said, “Son, do you know why I don’t want you to marry Sienna?”

Jace finally got back his voice. He replied, “I know. It’s because of Luna Zelda.”

Freya scoffed and went on, “Because of her, your dad was determined to divorce me. You were only ten years old back then. I’ve

fought for our marriage for over ten years, but I lost the fight. In the end, your father had chosen to abandon me for that woman. And you, my son, are planning to follow in his footsteps by marrying Luna’s niece. Tell me now, isn’t this funny?”

Jace felt a lump in his throat. He could not seem to say anything.

ure one humiliation, and I will no put up with another one. I will never acknowledge Sienna as As your mother, I will not force you to choose. So I’ll make it easier for you, I’ll leave.”

Turning her wheelchair, Freya inched her chair forward, but then someone stopped her wheelchair. Freya was shocked. Out of nowhere, several men dressed in black uniforms pinned down her

wheelchair, preventing her from moving any further.

Yoel got to his feet and greeted Freya with a smile on his face. “Aunt Freya, please don’t give me an earful for this. I only did what Jace had forced me to do.” This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

With a dark ex ression on his face, Jace pulled his mother’s wheelchair away from the edge. Just then there was a thund sound coming from above. A helicopter was near the building.

e edge.

People on the rooftop were asked to make room for the helicopter to land.

A slender person got out from the driver’s side. The person with short hair who was dressed in a blouse and a pair of black jeans had removed their gear. It was once everything was removed, effortlessly, that people realized that the pilot was a woman.

She was gorgeous too! As soon as Jace got a good look at the woman, he froze. With every step that Sage took toward him, he felt his heart speed up.
