Chapter 28
Chapter 28
“What do you know? This is what they call fighting fire with fire.”
Sage proceeded to max out the volume as she coldly said, “I can only give up after seeing him marry another with my own eyes.”
Pressing his lips together, Luther reached for his phone. Hitting WhutsApp, he sent a message to the group chat ‘Battle Against the Mistress’
Luther: (Sage is watching the live broadcast of the wedding, and I can’t stop her. What do we do?]
Luther’s second brother: (Why are you stopping her? Let her watch so that she can see how we’re helping her get revenge.
Luther’s third brother: [Live broadcast? I thought Jace didn’t invite anyone from the press?]
Luther: (Have you forgotten how Sage’s hacking skills are now better than mine? There’s nothing that she can’t hack into if she puts her mind to it.)
Luther’s second brother: [You’re such a weakling.)
Luther’s fourth brother: [There, there. If Sage wants to watch it, leave her be. She’s loved Jace for too long, and perhaps this is the only way that she could really let him go and move on.)
Luther’s eldest brother: [Just stick to the original plan.)
In Nadeem City, the weather was strangely gloomy and the skies were overcast. It seemed like a thunderstorm was brewing.
The wedding was held at the Emerald Bay Inn, a hotel owned by the Yuriel Group. Gradually, invited guests began to tum up. Most o f the guests were business partners of the Yuriel Group, and some of them were members of Sienna’s family. However, no member o f the Yuriel family showed up.
Upon seeing that no one from the Yuriel family had shown up, the guests started to whisper, “What’s going on? The Yuriels are nowhere to be seen.”
“It could be that Jace’s grandpa doesn’t approve of this marriage. Haven’t you heard of what happened between Jace’s mother and Sienna’s aunt? It would be awkward if she shows up, and even if she did, I bet a fight will break out.”
“Isn’t it a bit sad that his wedding is neither acknowledged nor supported by his family? But I have heard that this is Director Jace’s second marriage. Wait, who was his ex-wife anyway? I have heard nothing about her, and now he is getting remarried out of the blue?”
“Didn’t you see the news on the intemet a few days back? I heard that his ex-wife was a commoner from a simple family. He did not have any feelings for her, so I guess that is why no one knows of her. How could a plain girl from a farming village dare compare herself to Miss Sienna from the Zelda family?” NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
“What’s wrong with a girl from a farming village? Who knows, your ancestors were probably farmers too. My grandfather was also from a farming village, and he’s doing great now. Why are they looking down on the farming people?”
The guests who were gossiping amongst each other were suddenly interrupted by a good-looking man dressed from head to toe in branded clothes.
Looking at the man who looked as if he was trying to pick a fight with the other guests, Luther asked chirpily, “Who’s the kid?”
“Zachary Yuriel, Jace’s youngest cousin.”
“Oh, so he’s one of the young masters of the Yuriel family… this is getting interesting,” said Luther. “It’s a surprise to know that one of the Yuriels is protecting you.”
Sage glanced at Luther and said, “I’m well-liked in the Yuriel family. Aside from Jace, pretty much everyone likes me.”
Having to hear those words from her own mouth, Sage felt a wrenching pain in her heart. Of all the people, the one she loved the most did not like her. So what was the use in being well-liked by others?
Sage sighed softly
Zachary was dragged back to his seat by his sister. Fuming with rage, he complained, “Sis, have you forgotten all the times when Sage, our sister-in-law, had taken good care of us? Do you really support Jace’s marriage to Sienna?”
“How could I forget!” replied Faye Yuriel as she tried her best to calm down her younger brother. “But you must understand that Jace and Sage have already separated. This is a brutal fact, and no matter how much we don’t want to accept it, what is there for us to do?”
Kicking the table furiously, Zachary growled, “Jace is so ungrateful! How can he be this heartless? I’ve reminded Sage that she shouldn’t give her everything to Jace because all men are b*st*rds that take women like her for granted. I even taught her some tricks. She should have thrown tantrums at Jace, or you know, she should have resorted to flirtation to get his attention. But she didn’t take any of my advice, and now look, Jace divorced her!”
Sighing softly, Faye said, “It might be a good thing that Sage has left the marriage. Rather than staying in a relationship where the guy doesn’t love her at all, she should instead find someone who loves her truly.”
“And you think it’s so easy to find one? Jace is an amazing guy in all ways! He is just blind! Urgh!”
For some reason, Luther found the fuming young man to be rather adorable.
Smirking, Luther came up with a new idea. He typed out a message and hit send. The footage then showed guards entering the wedding hall. They were all headed to where Zachary Yuriel
