Chapter 348

Watching the chaotic scenes on the surveillance footage, Cynthia felt a surge of anxiety. All the people she cared about were in danger, and she couldn’t bear the thought of something happening to them. She vented her frustration by kicking the car door and yelling through the window, “Unlock the door now!”

Cynthia couldn’t unlock Liam’s car because it had an advanced anti–theft system, and she lacked the necessary tools. The bodyguard outside, looking conflicted but unable to express his anger, tried to persuade her. “Mrs. Sullivan, please calm down. Mr. Sullivan is concerned for your safety.”

Cynthia, enraged, pressed the laptop screen against the car window and pointed at the brawling figures. “If I calm down now, I’ll end up being a widow! If anything happens to Liam, you’ll all lose your jobs as well.”

Her outburst finally got through to the bodyguard. Seeing the gravity of the situation on the screen, the bodyguard quickly unlocked the car and followed Cynthia inside to help Liam.

When Liam noticed Cynthia entering, he frowned and pulled her to his side, clearly displeased. “Why are you here? Don’t you know it’s dangerous here?”

“I know. That’s why I’m here to help. Help is on the way. We just need to hold on for a few more minutes,” Cynthia responded while fending off attacks.

With their combined efforts, the attackers around them began to thin out. Some of the attackers had turned their attention to Hallet and Queena.

Hallet, struggling to keep up, exclaimed, “Why are they all after me?” When Hallet noticed that some of the attackers were wielding clubs, he was concerned about Queena being injured, so he

took several blows himself and grimaced in pain. “Cynthia, help!”

There was some distance between them, and Cynthia was unable to reach Hallet right away because several attackers were in her way. She quickly took out her needles and precisely aimed them at the necks of the men surrounding Hallet. Those men collapsed to the ground the very next

moment.

Luke’s interest was piqued as he witnessed the scene and saw Cynthia’s gorgeous face. The unexpected appearance of a beauty delighted him even more. In addition to getting his retribution, he also met a breathtakingly beautiful woman.

There was a limit to how many needles Cynthia could bring. Her last few were used to get rid of the men surrounding Hallet, so she ran out of needles just as she was ready to save Mila.

Mila was nearly exhausted from her prolonged struggle as she lay on the ground. Her clothes were ripped, and they barely covered her. She appeared to have lost all hope and paid no attention to her predicament, focusing solely on Vincent. When she noticed that his head was bleeding, she cried out, “Vincent, please don’t care about me anymore. Just go!”

Vincent was determined to save her, refusing to leave despite the dangers. Fortunately, Arnis‘ reinforcements had arrived, breaking into Luke’s mansion. This time, the number of intruders outnumbered those already inside the mansion. Those newcomers wore uniforms bearing an eye- catching emblem. It was the emblem of the Merson family, the country’s most influential family.

Luke was frustrated, wondering why his mansion had been stormed so many times that day. When he saw the emblem, he immediately ordered his men to stand down. The fighting ceased, and silence fell over the scene. Even those who were harassing Mila stopped.

Mila, disregarding her own disheveled state, attempted to stand up and check on Vincent, but she was stopped halfway.

Luke approached Arnis with a smile, trying to butter him up. “Mr. Merson, what brings you here?” In Fruycia, everyone sought the MS Group’s favor. Blake Group would reach new heights with the help of MS Group. Now that ‘Luke had nowhere to stay in Clusia, he was eager to take advantage of any opportunities that presented themselves.

Arnis glanced at the rugged–looking Luke and frowned slightly. “I heard someone was bullying my friend here, so I came to see who was so bold.”

When Luke heard that, his expression froze and his heart raced. ‘Is there someone here who’s close with Arnis? As far as I know, Arnis has always lived here and has never had the opportunity to make friends with anyone from Clusia,‘ he pondered. Trying to maintain his composure, Luke forced a smile. “I wouldn’t dare bully your friend, Mr. Merson. There must be some misunderstanding.”

“Do you think I’d mistake my own friends?” Arnis responded with growing disdain, finding Luke’s ugly face increasingly repulsive. Then, he looked around the crowd for Cynthia and approached her with concern. “Cynthia, are you hurt?” Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

When Cynthia saw Arnis, she was relieved. She smiled and shook her head. “Arnis, you arrived so quickly. Thank you.”

“No need to thank me. There’s no need for formalities between us,” Arnis replied in Clusian. It was a phrase Cynthia had frequently said to him during their time at the border. He decided right then and there that Cynthia would be his best friend for life.

As they exchanged greetings, Arnis placed a hand on Cynthia’s shoulder, Liam noticed that and felt annoyed. Even though he knew Arnis was gay

and treated Cynthia like his own sister, the sight bothered him.

Meanwhile, Luke was shocked. He suddenly remembered seeing on the news that the woman who had just arrived was Sullivan Group’s CEO’s wife. Luke found himself in a difficult situation because she was friends with Arnis. He could not win against MS Group, and Blake Group, which had recently stabilized, was on the verge of collapse again.

Fear began to creep into Luke’s heart. However, it was too late for him to back down. He glanced at Mila, who was on the ground, and anger surged from deep within him. ‘All of this wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t met her that day. She’s a jinx, and she brings misfortune to those around her,‘ he remarked inwardly.

Luke was unable to vent his frustration on Cynthia, so he turned his rage on Mila. He viciously kicked her in the stomach. As a rough man, his kick was brutal, nearly knocking Mila unconscious. It took a long time for the pain to go away.

Cynthia attempted to step forward to stop him, but Arnis tightened his grip on her shoulder and held her back. Then, he issued a command to his men. “Tie up Luke and his men.”

The moment Luke heard that, his face turned pale. Arnis didn’t even bother asking questions before issuing his order. Luke hurried forward and said with a flattering smile, “Mr. Merson, there must be some misunderstanding. I didn’t know that this lady was your friend. As you can see, she isn’t hurt.

You can’t hold me responsible for something I don’t know. I’ll release her immediately. Is that okay?”
