Under the Heiress' Facade

Chapter 655

Chapter 655

Thiago exclaimed, "Hera's angry. We'll be kicked out sooner or later if we don't leave the kitchen."

Nicholas remarked, "She's quite fierce, but she's just my type!"

Tyler said, "Give me another half an hour. I'll definitely be done by then! I refuse to believe that I can't do what Bernard can."

But Tyler was dragged away by Thiago and Nicholas.

Samantha arrived not long after, holding many gift boxes. She entered the living room and saw the three men there. "Oh? Why are all of you here?"

She took the things to the kitchen. "Hera, Mrs. Jones! I'm here. I brought prawns, lobsters, crabs, scallops, mussels, and more. Let's have seafood for dinner tonight."

"You brought so much. Wayne just went downstairs to buy more ingredients," Catherine answered with a smile. " Since so many of us are here, we should be able to finish all the food."

After learning that the three men outside were all staying for dinner, Samantha went out of the kitchen to tell them off.NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

"Why are all of you sitting here and not helping in the kitchen? No wonder Hera doesn't like any of you. Not only does Mr. Killian work hard, but he also cooks well. That's how he keeps Hera by his side."

Thiago, Nicholas, and Tyler were infuriated but had nothing to retort with. After all, they were kicked out of the kitchen earlier.

At that moment, the doorbell rang, prompting Samantha to open the door. "Oh, Madam Cresswell, Mrs. Everett, you're here as well. Come in and have a seat."

Lilith and Mildred entered. Lilith felt slightly awkward as she did not expect so many people.

Having heard their voices, Hera stepped out. "Mom, what are you all doing here?"

"Your grandmother saw the news and said she wanted to visit Mrs. Jones. I felt uneasy about her coming here alone, so I accompanied her," Lilith whispered.

Hera was slightly perplexed. She watched Mildred, who did not seem to care at all. She made herself at home by taking her things toward the kitchen right away to greet Catherine.

"Catherine, I'm here to hang out with you. Mind if I stay here for a few days? I want to explore Jedburgh."

Catherine was slightly confused, but she wasn't a fool either. Although that was what Mildred said, Catherine knew that she was there to keep her company.

She was also secretly aware that everyone dropped by today because of the news earlier, and they were concerned about her. She felt very touched, and tears began to well up in her eyes.

Ever since Daphne passed away, Hera was the only family Catherine had left. Even so, Hera wasn't Catherine's biological daughter as she was accidentally mistaken for Daphne's child.

Yet Giselle, Catherine's biological granddaughter, did not even acknowledge her. Instead, Giselle tried to ruin her by borrowing high-interest loans from the loan sharks.

If it weren't for Hera, Catherine might not even be alive now, let alone have so many caring for her.

"Oh, Catherine. Why are you crying?" Mildred hurriedly passed a tissue for Catherine to wipe her tears.

"Don't let Hera see you like this. Otherwise, she'll blame me for bullying you. If you don't want me to stay here, I can always stay at a hotel."

"No, no. I'm just very touched. Thank you, everyone." Catherine wiped her tears away. "Come and stay with me. Everly's room is empty, so you can stay there."

That was exactly what Mildred had in mind. "I'll make myself at home, then."

It was rare for the house to be so lively. The men chatted over coffee in the living room while the women became busy in the kitchen.

Lilith began to prepare ravioli. Despite her old age, Catherine still had considerable strength for kneading the dough.

After Hera finished preparing the shepherd's pie, she and Samantha learned from Catherine how to make ravioli. It was a very lively atmosphere. Once everything was ready, Lilith began to cook the ravioli.

Seeing that Bernard wasn't here yet, Mildred asked, "Oh, isn't Bernard finished with work yet? Hera, quickly give him a call. Once he's done with work, ask him to come over for dinner right away."

"Let's not invite him," Hera said.

If that jealous prick dropped by, he would become envious upon seeing Thiago and the others. If things went south, Hera would have to console him again. It was better for Bernard to not join their dinner.

"Did you guys fight again?" Mildred was suspicious.

Hera was speechless. She wondered what gave Mildred the idea that she and Bernard fought.

"No."

"If not, why won't you invite him here? Quickly give him a call and ask him over for dinner. Since you're still in your honeymoon phase, you should see each other more often," Mildred urged.
