Chapter 226 The Were-Vamps
There is a terrifying grip hold over my chest as the Bloodluster behind me has me firmly pinned with one arm and reaching for the blade that has fallen next to my side.
I have not been able to even utter but one word as the moment of coming near to my death starts to overwhelm every bone in my body. And every bone is what this creature is squeezing with the utmost force trying his best to keep me in place.
Yet in front of me, there is another that is trying to snap his teeth at me while he grows ever so close to my face. All I can smell is the rotness of his breath and the blood that is still sitting fresh on his clothes.
And if I thought that this scuffle of mine would go unnoticed, I have two other Bloodluster slowly but very ominously creeping their way over to join in the feast that they are about to have on display. However, the one that was trying to get hold of the blade had hands that were too bloody, making it almost impossible for him to pick up the blade.
Now, if I thought these creatures would anticipate the prospect of sharing among themselves, well, that will just not happen as far as the four of them are convinced. Next, I see the one that nearly had the upper hand turn around and head for the other two that were sneaking their way close.
In an instant…
There is a bloody fight among the three of them.
There are claws that grow razor-sharp and fangs that snap at an incredible snap. Between the power that the three of them hold, chaos is about to rip loose.
Then there is a loud cry…
A snap of a wrist…
And a body that drops to the floor.
In almost an instant, there is a group of nine Bloodlusters that descend down on it, while the rest continue with their attack on the group that is starting to gain control over the Vampires. But as for me, I am still being held by the very same man that is trying to retrieve the knife, yet this is futile as I soon rip myself loose from his grip and spin around with the quick reflex of picking the blade from his grip and with one smash I drive it into his chest.
But this only attracts the attention of the group of nine that were feasting on their very much alive friend. They immediately rise to their feet and come in a long stride over to my side. With each step that they put forward, they cackle and hiss as they fully intend to end the Vampire Master today.
I can recognize from them at least three of them what was present when Vladimir had taken me in the van. Well, I guess that this has just become all about revenge and an easy meal.
So with two steps back…
One step to the side…
Next to Cassidy…
I give her a brief glance…
“Are you ready for this, my beloved?”
She only but smiles and joins me by my side…
And in one… two… three…
CRASH
We go head-on into the group of Bloodlusters…
With my hand snapping from left to right through the air, I slice at the bodies of the Vampires. Stabbing not once but twice, jabbing into their chest, cracking through bone, and driving with force until they all, one by one, go up into a smoke of dust.
Stepping each foot ahead of the other, we make our way into the group that is now starting to grow…
Dicing and slicing…
Thrusting and pushing…
Driving and slamming…
Over and over as our feet take us…
Blood spurting in our face and covering our clothes…
Sliding through a pool of mess as we glide our way through, taking each Bloodluster and taking the very essence of their life from their bodies as they drop to the floor and disappear.
Soon we are joined by Dean and Sam that take the ones that managed to get past us.
As a complete unit, the Misfits bring the end to a group of Bloodlusters…
But then…
“Dean,” I look over my shoulder and call for him to join my side. “I think we have encountered a new problem.”
As he comes to stand next to me, I only hear but one word coming from his very surprised lips, “Fuck.”
Then we are joined by Sam that has just dropped the last of the Bloodlusters to the floor, “Wolf and Vamp.”
“Well,” I turn to him and smile, “Thank you for the clever observation. Now, what on earth?”
Dean only looks over to the group, who is exhausted from the battle that they had just endured, and shakes his head, “We are in no state to take these creatures on, I say we…”
I immediately interrupt him as the wolf starts to growl his way towards us, and I say that Cassidy has possibly just died. So I only but push her behind me and advance towards the animal that thinks he is brave enough to take us on after he had just experienced how we have taken the Bloodlusters down.
Yet, I need to remind myself that they are far stronger than any Vampire; though I have my own strength to match theirs but I have been trying to keep it to the low. I do not wish the boys to question when I have developed the ability as I do not yet know myself.
So taking a firm stance, ready to take them by hand while Dean and Sam join me by the side with Angel blades in hand, Cassidy and Jacob arming themselves with a colt, Damien and Roberto silver knives, and the Angel, Cass just being himself.
We step one foot slowly towards the other as we make the same approach as the Were-Vamps. However, the animals seem to be wary of our approach as they start to step one step back towards the door that they have just entered through.
Then…
In an almost instant, as I launch forward, they spin on their feet and make their exit into the dark of the night.
Dean looks at me just as surprised as I am, “Well, are we going to go after them?”
“I doubt we will be able to keep up with their speed,” I slowly start to retreat back into the kitchen, where there is nothing but dust covering the floor for the bodies of the Bloodlusters that we have just slain.
Then it occurs to me, “It seems that Vladimir was building an army of the strongest Vampires that he can get. Now how do you think he was able to do that?”
“Well,” Dean wiping a chair clean, comes to sit in front of me. “I don’t know, but we cannot let those Were-Vamps getaway.”
I look at him with a newfound worry in my eye; then, as I move closer to him, I call Cass over to join us, “Do you think we can find Breyden a bit faster than we currently can?”
Cass only but smiles at me, “Yes, Lucas, but we need to decide where our priorities are at the current time, for I have read the one Were-Vamps mind, and they have something rather terrifying planned for the City, and I dare even say that there is more of a kind of Vampire out there than the ones that we have just killed.”
Dean’s eyes grow wide as he pulls Cass even closer to him, “What are you talking about?”
“They said they are going ahead with the plan, the slaughter, some sort of cleansing as he had called it.” Cass goes quiet for a brief moment, then he continues again, “From what I believe the creature had in his memory is that it is something that Vladimir has been planning for hundreds of years now.”
“But what are these…” I pause for a brief moment to see if the rest of the group is paying attention to what we say, “What are these other Vampires that you are referring to?”
Cass steps even closer to Dean and me and whispers, “They are called…”
Then next, there is Cassidy that comes striding her way over with nothing but a smile on that face that is now only but covered in blood, “What are you three whispering about here?”
I pull her closer into my side and show for Cass not to continue with what he is about to say, then softly I place a kiss on her head and look into her very concerned eyes, “I was only saying that we need to find Breyden soon. We have lost track of our true goal here.”
She only but cocks her head and looks over my shoulder towards the door where the Were-Vamps have only but left through a moment ago. Then her eyes grow from concern to fear, “Lucas, what is that?”This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
