“Hey wait!” Leo called me.

I Ignored him and continued running.

I didn’t want anything to happen to Monica . I didn’t want her to die either. “Mia, you can’t just leave like that, today is the final day. You can’t get this kind of opportunity ever again” Leo beckoned.

I turned and heaved a sigh of relief.

“My elder sis, Monica is very sick and she has been admitted to the hospital. Am afraid she might die. Do you know why? She has been taking lots of illegal drugs lately. She migh have hurt her lungs ” I sighed.

“You could have said so than run away like that. You made the master think you’re not interested. Don’t worry, I’ll go to meet him now and explain to him. You might come back when you’re done” Leo said.

“Don’t worry, nothing will happen to your sis. Don’t overthink. Okay”? Leo assured me.

“Thank you so much” I replied.

Leo went back to the masters office.

I continued running. It was at this moment, I realized I was a fool.

“Very stupid me!” I shouted hitting my head. I didn’t even ask for the name of the hospital.

I called Maria on phone. “Hey, what’s the name of the hospital?” I asked panthing heavily.

“You’re actually a fool!” Maria shouted.

“Me?”

“Of course, you didn’t even ask about the name of the hospital or the location. Pathetic!” Maria replied.

I felt like beating her into a pulp.

“Even though, it wasn’t my fault. Tell me now am asking nicely. What’s the name of the hospital and the location?” I pleaded.

“Nevermind, Monica doesn’t want you to come visit her. Mum is here already” Maria replied.

I heaved a sigh of relief.

“What’s actually wrong with Monica? What did the doctor say about her health?” I asked.

“Maria… will you end that call right now? Or should I snatch the phone from you?” I heard a voice ask her.

Maria ended the call immediately.

It’s probably Monica.

“I don’t even care about her” I sighed going back to the principal’s office.

I tried avoiding him by running away.

He chased after me.

“What’s wrong with this dude?” I asked myself.

“Mi.. Ma… I can’t even remember your name. Mia stop. Stop !” Jay shouted.

“My helmet!” He demanded.

“I will bring it for you tomorrow. Don’t worry. I promise” I said making the promise sign.

“You are dumb. Very dumb,” I sighed standing to my feet.

“It’s called pinky swear. Okay bring out your hand”

“That’s nice. What if you break the promise?” Jay asked.

“I don’t really know ” I replied.

Leo watched from afar.

“This girl is very dumb. She lied and acted like she was going to the hospital. Mean6, she’s here discussing with Jay. But, I don’t think she will lie about her sister being admitted in the hospital.” Leo nodded his head.

“I don’t really know about it, But, I read in an article sometime ago, that it originated from Japan..” I couldn’t finish what I was saying

“Mia what are you doing here!?” Leo asked me.

“Oh Leo, My sister said she doesn’t need me, so I thought I should go back to the master’s office” I replied.

“It’s this the master’s office!” Leo shouted.

“Can I have your number?” Jay asked me.

“of course” I replied, Inputting why mobile digits in his phone.

“Remember, my helmet” Jay said waving at me.

“Don’t worry. I won’t forget it” I replied.

“He still rides his motorbike, very stubborn boy ” Leo sighed.

“Nevermind. Don’t ask me. Let’s go to the masters office” Leo said dragging me along with him.

“Hey… you’re back” The master snapped.

I nodded my head in approval. Leo looked at me smiling earnestly.

The master handed the paper to me and I quickly signed the document.

“Mia do you know why I think you should involve I the competition?”

“uhmm…. I don’t really know… maybe the first day you met me? The basketball incident” I blurted.

“Exactly. I saw that potential in you. When did you start playing basketball?” Master asked.

“It hasn’t really been long and am not really good in the game. Actually, I played the basketball because of my crush. He loves playing basketball and that was the only way I could get close to him” I laughed.

Leo and The master laughed too.

“Wow… That’s pretty funny” Leo laughed.

“So what happened? Did he end up liking you?” Leo asked.

“How’s that your business?” I retorted.

“c’mon don’t just give me a cliff hanger”  Leo begged.

“Alright…, You guys discourse that later” The Master ordered.

“So…. Mia, we’ll have a private lesson. The lesson will be for you separately. You’ll be in the same team with the girls. But your own lesson will be different”  The Master declared.

“Why should her’s be different?” Leo asked.

“Cause am special!” I snapped.

“No Mia everyone is special in there own way. You have few weeks left to train adequately. They’ve been training for months” The Master countered.

“Alright” We replied.

“Master… we gotta go now” Leo said    bowing his head. I did same.

“Bye” he waved at us.

“So did you guys end up together?” Leo asked.

“I’ll tell you that later. Not today. It’s a long story” I gushed.

“Alright…. let’s go home together then” Leo insisted.

“No way. I can’t let Leo’s Mum see me. What if she see’s me? Am sure she’ll certainly transfer Leo to another school” I said in my mind.

“We don’t live close to each other. I mean, we don’t even take same route” I stammered.

“C’mon Mia. Have you forgotten?”

“What?”

“Your house is few blocks away from mine. We take same route. I often visit your Mum’s pub. DONALD. Have you forgotten?” Leo asked.

“obviously, I haven’t seen you around” I stammered.

“Of course. The day I visited your Mum’s pub, you were washing the dishes. So I didn’t want to disturb you” Leo explained.

“We’re you the one wearing a black hoodie?”

“Yes” Leo agreed.

“The one who refused to collect his balance? You even gave me a tip” I asked.

“Yeah… but I didn’t want you to notice me” Leo explained.

“Why didn’t you want to notice me?”

“Am afraid you might feel uncomfortable”

“Why?”

“You ask to many questions.. Mia. okay. Do you know what?”

“No” I snapped.

“Forget about it. let’s just go home together” Leo insisted.

“Am actually going to get some groceries” I lied.

“That’s not a problem. I don’t mind escorting you. Besides, I’ll be bored at home.” Leo agreed.

“Okay. Am done here. Let’s go then” I agreed.

“Oh God. What have I gotten myself into. I was supposed to do this the next day” I cried in my mind.

We arrived at the grocery shop and bought few things. No, alot of things.

I saw a poster of Alison.

“She’s probably a brand ambassador of the cream now” I sighed.

“You know her?” Leo asked me.

“Not really or should I say yes. Who doesn’t know her. She’s quite popular. She’s a model” I replied.

“She’s one of my favourite models”  Leo smiled looking at her poster.

I felt my heart broken into twelve pieces. I wish he really knows Alison. He won’t be saying this. How on earth did this happen? I cried.

I should be the one on that poster right now. Alison is the worst friend ever.

I sighed.

“Are you done now?” Leo asked.

“No. I just need to get few things” I groaned.

“Am done now. Let’s go” I called Leo.

We had nothing to talk about while walking home.

“So.. Mia, what about your crush?” Leo asked.

“Who?” I retorted.

“C’mon you promised to tell me what happened later” Leo groaned.

“Uhmmm, I promised to tell you but not now. Okay?”

“Alright” He smiled.

“Only if you knew you were the one” I sighed.

“What did you say?” Leo asked.

“Did you hear anything? No I didn’t say anything” I replied.

“Oh God what’s wrong with my mouth” I said hitting my head.

“Okay am here. This is my house” Leo said pointing to his house.

The house is a very luxurious one. It was too beautiful. I’ve always admired the house. I didn’t even know Leo lives there.

“oh.. Okay. It’s nice. I mean your house is very pretty” I gushed.

“Thank You. Good night then” Leo waved at me.

I waved back at him.

I arrived home late.

“Where are you coming from?” Mum asked.

“I went to the grocery store to get some things” I replied.

“But that should be tomorrow’s work” Mum yelled.

“I know. I felt like going today.” I sighed.

“Good night” I made my way to my room.

“You don’t even ask about your sister” Mum yelled.

“I know she’s okay” I replied.

“Only if you know you were the one”. Was Mia refering to me.” Leo asked himself.

“I don’t think that possible, besides we haven’t met each other for once in our life until she transferred schools” Leo convinced himself. “Can I get Mia’s mobile digits” Leo pleaded.

“How on earth do you think am gon’ give it to you” Jay sighed.

Jay refused like three times but Leo couldn’t stop demanding for it.

“I have some inportants assignments I need to send to her. She forgot to take my notes home” Leo lied.

“Really?” Jay asked.

“Do you think we’re really close to the extent you can come ask me for stuffs?” Jay asked.

“I won’t be asking you this but because I want to help Mia out” Jay insisted.

“What are you asking From him and who is Mia? Jay’s Mum asked as she bagged into the room.
