Reclaiming My Broken Luna

Chapter 216: Failed Schemes

Astrid's POV

Trepidation crept up my spine as I silently followed the sewing manager, who called us out because there was something he wanted to show us.

I fell one step behind him, not trusting him fully. Glancing sidelong, I motioned for my most trusted attendant to fall in beside me.

I decided to bring her along with me, just in case something happened. Today is my introduction ceremony, and I couldn't be too sure of my safety. Something bad had already happened with the dress. I couldn't expect that things would go on smoothly.

This could be a trap to lure me out. With my trusted attendant by my side, I will be reassured in case any unforeseen challenges arise.

I know not everyone has already accepted me as Alpha Theron's daughter, and Asha is one of them.

Knowing what Asha is like, I'm sure she would try all that she could to stop the ceremony from happening smoothly.

Even though I still had no idea about what happened to the dress, I'm already sure that she is the person behind this problem.

I had to be careful or else Asha could win this time and really ruin the whole ceremony.

The sewing manager pushed the huge mahogany doors, and then we barged inside.

The first thing I saw inside the room were the seamstresses working together, stitching designs on a torn dress.

When they saw me coming, they instantly dropped the dress and stood up to bow their heads to me.

"Miss Astrid, this is the dress that you were supposed to wear today," the sewing manager explained as he took the dress and showed it to me.

My brows furrowed when I saw the torn-up fabric. Some of the torn fabric was already stitched together with designs, but the dress was torn in a lot of pieces that were almost unwearable.

It would take it least days to stitch all these together without making it look like the fabric was torn to pieces.

"Last night, we showed this dress to Alpha Theron and he was so happy with it. However, when we were about to deliver your dress to your room this morning, we were just surprised to see that the dress were already torn to pieces," the sewing manager explained as I took a look at the torn white dress.

I felt bad as I admired the immaculate white dress that I was supposed to wear today. The pristine white gown seemed to glow with an almost ethereal luminescence. It's such a pity that no one got to wear it before it was ruined.

"Who did this?" I asked him as I caressed the dress's soft fabric. It is impeccably smooth with layers of expensive fabric. Wearing this dress would feel like wearing a cloud literally.

"It was Miss Asha," he answered bitterly. He hid his face from mine to hide the scowl that formed on his face. "After Alpha Theron saw and approved the dress, she sneaked in and torn the dress into pieces."

"If that's so, why didn't you report it to Alpha Theron?" I asked him. They could have just gone directly to him instead of begging me for help.

"Haven't you seen how Alpha Theron treats his precious daughter?" He shot back at me with utter disbelief etched across his features as his gaze locked onto mine.

"Even if we have the full video of

Miss Asha slicing off your dress to pieces, Alpha Theron will never place punishment on his precious

daughter. Instead we will suff nee

punishment for failing to protect the dress," the sewing manager explained.

"Alpha Theron loves her daughter so much. If he found out about this, we will be punished instead and Miss Asha will easily get away unpunished," one of the seamstresses spoke up in support.

I fell silent when I heard their words. As an Alpha, it is Alpha Theron's job to be fair to all of his pack members, including his children. He couldn't just let his own children get away from punishment.

I wanted to assure them that reporting this to Alpha Theron is the right thing to do. However, letting Alpha Theron know about this would only place these innocent people in danger.

"Then what plan do you have? How are you going to solve this probelm? The ceremony is about to start, and this dress is nowhere near completed. I couldn't go there wearing shirt and pants," I argued. The sewing manager turned to face the seamstress, "Bring the other dress," he commanded them.

I watched in wait as the seamstresses went out to bring the other dress that the sewing manager was talking about.

"Before we created this white dress,

Miss Astrid, we created another dress which supposed to be the dress that you would wear on the ceremony. It's the first dress that we showed to Alpha Theron, but he didn't like it so we were forced to make a new one," the sewing

manager explained while we waited.

A delighted expression crossed my features when I finally laid my eyes on the dress that he was talking about.

The crimson red fabric, the careful elaborate designs, that's exactly the dress that I'm looking for.

Although the white dress is stunning, its overall design is simple, leaning towards something pure and innocent. Meanwhile, this gorgeous red dress is exactly what I need to mark the start of my plans.

My fingers traced the delicate embellishments reverently after the seamstresses pushed the dress towards me for me to see.

"Miss Astrid, is it okay if you wear this dress? I know Alpha Theron didn't like this dress, but we thought if he realized that you like it, he might change his mind about this dress," the sewing manager explained. Now I know why he came to me to ask for help.

I slowly nodded my head as I admired the crimson-red dress. What other choice do I even have? It's either I wear this dress or nothing. "Sure," I answered. "I'll wear the dress."

The sewing manager sighed in relief

when he heard my answer. "And one

more thing, Miss Astrid. Alpha

Theron

has no idea about this. He

would be expecting you to the

white dress instead of him, if you can please explain to him that-"

"No worries," I spoke up, cutting him short. "I'll tell him that I like this dress better, and that all of this was Asha's fault."© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

The sewing manager looked so relieved like a thorn was uprooted from his side. Finally, their problems are solved.

I hid a smile from my face as I thought of what Asha's reaction would be if she saw me in the ceremony wearing a better dress. She would be totally surprised that I'm able to find a better gown to wear.
