Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 195

Selena definitely had some feelings about it - who wouldn't, given how sneaky he was, especially when he caught her off-guard like that! Feigning innocence, she said, "I was wasted last night. I don't remember a thing!"

"Oh, really?" Everett saw right through her little act and smirked. "I remember every detail, and I'd be happy to jog your memory." Then, he grabbed her chin and kissed her with intensity.

Selena's knees were weak, and her back ached - she couldn't handle his teasing any longer and had to plead for mercy.

"I remember now. Alright!"Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

But he wasn't ready to let her off easy, holding her firmly. "Remember what, exactly?"

Selena tried to wiggle free but couldn't escape, gasping, "I agreed... to start afresh with you..."

Everett's lips curved up, but he still held her in place. "What do you call me?"

"Everett, don't push it!" Selena snapped, clenching her teeth.

He chuckled softly, his hand venturing lower.

"Hu... Hubby!" Selena blushed furiously, finally giving in to the term.

He'd never found her calling him 'hubby' particularly sweet before, but in that moment, Everett found it immensely gratifying.

Selena eventually came back to be his wife, fulfilling his desire for conquest.

Holding back the urge to sweep her off her feet again, he helped her up and had her pick out his outfit for the day.

Having been part of the family for three years, Selena had trained at an exclusive center for wealthy wives, learning how to be the perfect Mrs. Bennett. The center offered courses on how to better serve and please their husbands. While her skills in the bedroom hadn't improved much, she excelled in everything else.

For example, she could quickly put together an entire suit and

accessories for him. Even though he never complimented her, Everett was satisfied. Otherwise, he

wouldn't have put in so much effort to win her back after she threatened to leave. He struggled with his own discomforts until he was willing to make an effort.

Everett stood with his arms crossed, leaning against the door frame, watching her busy figure, feeling a newfound warmth in his heart.

She wore only a nightgown, barely

covering her behind, showing off her long, slender legs. She bent slightly to pick a watch from the glass cabinet. From his viewpoint, it was nothing less than an invitation.

His eyes darkened with intensity, and his Adam's apple bobbed.

Selena selected a watch and was

about to turn to ask Everett's opinion when his large hand had already found its way around her slim waist. The heat from his palm made her body flinch, and she understood what he wanted instantly. Her face turned red with anger. "You..."

"I wanted to give you a break, but you tempted me..."

Selena was exasperated. How had she tempted him?

Ignoring her objections, he nibbled at her neck, pinning her against the glass cabinet.

Selena's face was flushed, her breathing rapid, and her body was like jelly. When she was finally unable to stand, she slid down helplessly.

Everett chuckled deeply, scooping her up.

Selena saw the overhead lights swaying and glimpsed the rare sight of him lost in desire, utterly captivating. In his dark eyes, she saw only her reflection.

All the barriers she had built around her heart finally crumbled. She wrapped her arms around him, her cheek resting against his heart, whispering his name softly. Everett.

...

In the days that followed, Everett hardly set foot in the office and worked from home instead. After finishing up, he continued to focus his attention on her! Selena was at her wit's end, feeling utterly worn out.
