CHAPTER 35
“Ah, his Majesty has finally decided to join us” Derrick said jeeringly with a dramatic bow.
Elijah growled with some of his soldiers as they stood at him back.
“Tell them to back off” Derrick growled at Elijah’s men while I struggle against the hold that Cedric had on me.
Elijah glance at everyone in the room before his eyes zoomed in on the hand of Derrick that was wrapped around our sons neck.
“Leave” Elijah muttered lowly. The guards looked at themselves unsure if he meant it. “Now!” He growls at them, clenching and unclenching his fist and with hesitation, they left.
Now it was just Elijah, Me, Cedric, Mlika and Derrick. The rogue King sent Josephine and her son out, I’m sure he did it so she would find Elijah and not long after she left, Elijah came.
“What do you want Derrick” Elijah growled, his eyes kept on zooming on our crying son. Micah already has marks on his arms and neck from where Derrick held him.
“What do I want?” Derrick asked himself pacing in front of us and much to my relive, he removes his hand on Micah’s neck and rubs his chin.
“I want the Crown but obviously none of us can have it.” He muttered, gesturing to the wall that is no longer in place through the window.
It’s already dawn and am sure the human government would soon come to know what happened here.
“Obviously.” Elijah said dryly. “So why don’t you just leave the child out of this?” Elijah asked.
“Please” I begged Derrick but released a muffled cry when Cedric’s claw extended and dug into my arm, almost tearing the flesh out.
Elijah visibly tense up and I’m sure his trying hard not to release his wolf and tear everyone in this room to pieces.
“Why leave the son out when I plan of killing the whole family?” Derrick chuckled before looking out the window. “Finally! The sun is up” He muttered jerking his head to the side and Cedric let go of me but not before dragging his claw on my flesh.
My blood were dribbling from my fingers to the floor but that was the least of my concern.
Derrick’s hand went to the back of my son’s neck holding him in the air with just his neck and I feared for my son’s life as he cried. His tiny hands going to his back and trying to pry Derrick’s hand from his neck.
“Mama” He cries and my heart clenched.
I tried moving forward but when I heard a click sound I look to my left to see Cedric pointing a gun at me with a smirk on his lips.
“Why don’t I give your son the same mark your father gave me?” He asked Elijah and I started shaking.
“No! No! Please! Elijah do something!” I turned to my husband who just stood there staring at Derrick. “Please don’t”
Derrick produced a dagger from his back and points it towards the sun. It glowed a green color and with a evil smile our way, he brought the dagger to Micah’s face.
It felt like it happened in slow motion as the dagger slash across my son’s face. I screamed, Elijah growled, Derrick laughed and my son cried harder as blood leaked out from the top of his left eyebrow to his cheek.
I turned to Elijah for help with my eyes wide and saw him brought a gun from his pocket. Derrick also saw it and before the bullet could dig into his flesh, he swiped the dagger across Micah’s neck. They both fell to the ground with their blood mixing together.
I screamed as my son struggled to breath on the floor. Blood kept pouring out of his neck. “Micah!” I screamed with heavy tears running down my cheeks.
I was about to run to my dying son but was torn when I saw Cedric aiming his gun at Elijah. Elijah’s gun was also aimed at Cedric but Cedric pulled the trigger faster than Elijah could.
I pushed Elijah out of the way making me take the impact of the bullet. I cried out as it penetrated my shoulder making me fall to the ground. I twist the already healed twisted ankle and it looked unnatural as it bent side ways.
I turned around to see Cedric struggling with his gun. “Who the fuck gives someone a gun with just one bullet?” He asked himself in panic.
Elijah got up and aimed his gun at him but he missed, running away and quickly shifting to his wolf. Elijah was about to go after him but I called him to a halt.
“Micah” I gasped crawling to my son. His body has still except for a light jerk. Elijah took him in his arms his eyes going blurry with unshed tears.
I put my shaky hand on his cheek, sobbing as I felt no heat from him. I heard footsteps and soon the aging face of Hilda was beside Elijah.
“We need to take him to a hospital” I cried but holds shook her head.
“No human medicine will work. This dagger has been laced with magic and he will loose his life completely If he’s given any of those drugs” She said hurriedly while bringing out a very small pot from her bag.
“Then what should we do!?” I asked in panic.
“Do you remember the plant I gave you years ago?” She asked and I nodded. “Of course!”
“Good, now I need them” Hilda muttered looking me in the eye.
I tried getting up but a hand on my shoulder stopped me “Your ankle, you can’t walk. I’ll go get it” Elijah spoke but I shook my head.
“You don’t know where it is” I hissed as I got up.
“You have to hurry!” Hilda said urging me to move faster. I took the knife that had my son’s blood on it trucking it in my pant.
I limped hurriedly down the stairs and through the hallway before getting to my room. I passed people on my way as they carried either dead of injured soldiers.
I took a wood out of the floor and produced the book I had kept the flowers in. I opened the book in the middle and was relieved to see that it was still there.
I hurriedly left the room, passing some guards who looked at me like I’ve gone crazy as I run like a maniac.
The hallway was eerily silent as i climbed up the stairs. I was halfway up with a force pulled me down. The book went flying out of my hand as I fell down.
I cried out as my already wounded shoulder made contact with the stairs and a loud crack sounded in the air before I slide down the stairs.
I took in deep breaths, gasping and panting as I tried getting up but my weak bones won’t support me.
“Tsk tsk tsk. Seems like you lost another child” Milka’s raspy voice said as she stood above me.
I placed my hand on the inside of my thigh and cried as my fingers came in contact with the warm wet substance.
“What a pity” she muttered crouching down to look me in the eye.
I tried getting up but she pressed her foot on my bad shoulder. I grit my teeth together as the pain spread through my body like it was on fire.
I extended my claws slashing at her side and she yelled getting of me.
“Stupid bitch!” She yelled holding her side as blood poured out.
She came running at me but quickly without her noticing, I took the dagger out of my pocket and stabbed her right in the chest.
She stumbled backwards and looked down at the wooden handle that sticks out of her chest. Blood dripped out of her chest and mouth and she fell to the ground.
I wasted no time in searching for the book but I could no longer find the dried flower. My heart started beating fast in my chest as I panicked but I pushed it down.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
I soon found the flower and picked it up, holding it firmly in my hand.
Elijah was still holding Micah to his chest as he cried. My eyes became glassy at the defeated look in his eyes.
I gave the flower to Hilda and she seems to prepare the potion with a defeated look also plastered on her face.
I took my boy out of his fathers arms and into mine. My tears dropped on his cheek as I hugged him to my chest.
“It is done” Hilda sighed. She opened his mouth a little and poured the ashy colored substance in his mouth.
We waited for what seems like hours yet nothing happened. I finally gave up hope that my son was gone.
My babies were gone.
My body shook as I cried, Elijah coming to my side to hold me as we cried for our loss.
Micah jerked in my laps and my eyes opened. I noticed how his hair started to turn white as he continued to jerk. I Wiped my tears, looking at Hilda for help only to see her smiling. I took that as a good sign and my frown turned into a smile.
His eyes finally opened and I gasped at how golden his eyes were before returning to their normal color. Gray.
